TENENCIAS + INSPIRING / DIY (do it yourself) furniture.... muy bueno :D
Normally, the thought of constructing furniture fills even the most accomplished craftsmen with dread. The cryptic guides seem to have a desire to mislead, and you always end up with spare nuts and bolts. Making furniture stops being a good way to save money and starts becoming an exercise in damage limitation.
That was all largely true until Japanese furniture designers SOZ thought up their new furniture range, Re:mo. Taking the Japanese term “Sozo” meaning creation, the Osaka based company have brought a new meaning to the phrase “Do It Yourself”. The furniture is constructed by assembling individual shapes into what you’d see lying around the house; a bookshelf, a magazine rack, a storage box or anything else that takes your fancy.
But unlike other DIY furniture, the shape and function of Re:Mo can be changed instantly to suit your mood or desire. You may want a chair, but would also like somewhere to display your creative wares. Why not make a stool and use the spares to make a display case? The transformation is limited only by your creativity. That, and how many pieces you have.
SOZ will open its flagship store this spring in Osaka, Japan, and from March 12 will be featuring in a window display at the Musee des Arts decoratifs in Paris. You can buy Re:mo online and also get hold of SOZ’s carpenter block mini at the Museum of Modern Art Store in New York. Who ever said doing jigsaws was boring? By Matt Hussey

INSPIRING / HOW TO / como hacer pajitas de hielo para este verano :)
IKEA, the horror show that it is, sells an ice tray that makes cube sticks that fit into water bottles.
You'll need:
1 Ice cube tray (as mentioned above)
Enough straws to fit in each compartmen
GADGETS + INSPIRING / Programmable LED fan
These LED fans have 5MB of memory and will spin-animate any series of bitmaps you load onto it -- alas, it requires you to use something called "Windows" with it.
5 megs of memory holds up to 128 individual frames. You can animate, spin, slide, flash and dissolve to your heart's delight. All the while, enjoying the cool breeze from a chromed-up art-deco desktop fan.
Show off your m4d 4rT 5k1Llz using the included software. Import animated GIF files, or draw your own frames. If you've got a logo you want to display, have at it!
INSPIRING / OLPC (one laptop per child)... mas info de este proyecto que ya sabeis me flipa :D
One Laptop per Child association.
The mission of this non-profit association is to develop a low-cost laptop—the "$100 Laptop"—a technology that could revolutionize how we educate the world's children. Our goal is to provide children around the world with new opportunities to explore, experiment, and express themselves.
Why do children in developing nations need laptops? Laptops are both a window and a tool: a window into the world and a tool with which to think. They are a wonderful way for all children to learn learning through independent interaction and exploration. More Information: http://www.laptop.org

Dutch, teenage sensation Esmee Denters as taken full advantage of YouTube to become a popular webstar and land a recording contract with Justin Timberlake’s Tennman Records.
Denters gained notoriety with her covers of Beynce, Alanis Morrisette and Alicia Keys, and is now the first artist to be signed by Timberlake. With her own web cam, Denters uploaded about 59 video clips of herself and amassed over 21 million views. Included in her video collection is a rendition of Timberlake’s own “What Goes Around.” Denters is scheduled to release an album later this year, and starting this summer, she will embark on a tour with Timberlake in Europe, including stops in Amsterdam, Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen.

INNOVATION + INSPIRATION / nuevo plug-in de YouTube... estos tios son unos cracks!! :D
YouTube’s highly-addictive Related Videos feature is becoming part the embedded players on external websites. Now, all YouTube players embedded around the web include a “related videos” section that looks identical to the Mac dock, complete with magnification and reflections. Ratings are also within the player, as well as next and previous buttons. Yet again, this move will dramatically increase sky-high number of YouTube videos viewed daily.
Metacafe has a similar feature, but last time I checked, it opens videos in a new window, not the player itself.
